This makes it ideal for a stroll. People who go to Ferry Beach can swim in the shallow end of Lake Charlevoix, play on a playground, and build sandcastles on the sandy beach, which is great for kids. For information on the many other beaches in the area, check out our site.
Freshwater is what Charlevoix is all about. We suggest going out on the lakes in a kayak, sailboat, or paddleboard during your visit. You can also rent a motorboat or stand-up paddleboard. Also, take a canoe trip down the Jordan River. If you want to take it easy, you can have a guide take you on a raft. If you’re more experienced, you can rent canoes or kayaks. This is an excellent thing to do with your friends and family.
Charlevoix has many great trails, whether you want to go by Lake Michigan’s shore or in the woods. Please check out the Mt. McSauba Recreational Area, Charles Ransom Nature Preserve, and Fisherman’s Island State Park, which are all in the same area. They all have great views of Lake Michigan and many trails.
